Since 2021, REAP has published an annual State of Play report to contribute to the growing early action evidence base, providing snapshots of national investments, commitments and activities linked to early warning and early action. The 2024 State of Play report goes further, looking at developments over the five years since 2019.
Part 1 examines how the landscape for action has changed, while part 2 assesses progress towards REAP’s targets, including specific advances in 2024. Finally, in part 3, the report also asks the question—where do we go next, and how do we get there?
This year’s report draws on literature, key informant interviews and documentation from actors in the field. To enrich its analysis, a survey was used to gather data on how EWEA practitioners, decision-makers and researchers perceive the evolution, the present, and the future of the field. The report was also informed by inputs from the REAP Working Groups.
